Date night 101 with Thomas + Rachel:
1. Let it go
Excuse me and my shallow self but sometimes I get caught up in the small details. It’s who I am, I love details. I love that about myself.
But sometimes, I love them a little too much. If we don’t sit at *that* table or get *that* picture or have * that* conversation, was it even a good date night? Ugh, silly I know. I have to take a deep breath, sink in, lean in and just be the best for one another in those moments. Don’t worry about being the best for anyone else.
2. Let him pick out your outfit
Get fun. Get fancy, boo. Put on those heels, swipe on that lipstick, ya feel? If you have a favorite shirt for him, he’s probably got one for you, too.
3. You have an enemy
And it’s not your husband…
You can expect that that sneaky Satan is going to try and wedge himself into your set aside time with one another to steal the intentions, kill the vibes and ultimately destroy the evening. Nuh uh. We know better now. Now we watch out for it, when that tension comes up, we look at each other and giggle knowing we caught him in his act before he caught us in ours.
4. You can surprise him, too, ya know?
Get him a gift, have a thoughtful conversation, ask him about him, take him to dessert, I promise the budget can handle that $10 dessert, go for it.
‘Cause who said you don’t still date when you’re married?
