We were living in a tiny house.
We were newly married.
And we honestly had no idea what we just signed up for.
I so badly want to sit those kid versions of us down, spill the tea, prepare our hearts for the celebrations and grieves to come.
I would tell them:
let the small things go
remember the real enemy when times get tense
race to apologize first
stick to the budget
I’d tell them of the places they’d travel, the things they’d see, the people they meet, the friends they make, the house they make home.
I’m taking a wild guess and would bet that we’d all take the chance to go back to a younger self and tell them it’s going to be okay.
You know what’s funny? One day, we’ll look back at where we are today and say the same.
So here’s my reminder:
Take a deep breath.
Remember it’s going to be okay.
You’ve survived your hardest days.
The best has yet to happen.
Tomorrow may be the best day you’ve had yet. Who knows!
What advice would you give your younger self?
