I wish I could be just a phone call away, your next door neighbor or in a small group together. But, since we're not, I love finding ways to help you (and each other) here online. *big hugs*
You may have seen it but we complete a road trip from Birmingham, Alabama to Etna, California and y’all, it was a blast! I highly recommend taking a few days to travel across the country and see our country – it’s remarkable!
Here’s a truth: there’s no “normal.” Everything is relative – we hear that all the time. My normal is different than your normal, which is different than his normal which is different from her normal. So, just because someone’s behavior isn’t “normal” to your lifestyle doesn’t mean that it’s not acceptable in general. The autism spectrum is broad; therefore, offering numerous amounts of “normals” in this world. I saw the spectrum of “normal” appear in an encounter at the grocery store that happens too frequently to not be brought to attention.
The build up to the wedding day – sheesh. There’s the venue planning, the caterer, the dress alterations, seat planning, making sure you won’t run out of food, etc. But, if you’re anything like me, you’re an organizer and you want to make sure that there is not a thing that will get overlooked. Although, that’s a silly expectation (because nothing really goes seamlessly) there are a few things that I found important throughout my engagement season that all brides should know about.
“I like big bags and I cannot lie” It’s true! You can’t fit anything in a medium/small size bag. Ugh. I have no shame carrying around my canvas/leather bag with me pretty much everywhere. It’s big enough to even fit my dog, Remi, if I wanted too.
For that day in between something fun and something fancy lies a day where you don’t have time to shower, do your hair, properly apply makeup. It probably comes with brushing your hair, maybe a spray of dry shampoo, hoping your perfume is enough and throwing on your fave leggings and an oversized tee. Not just me?
Incase you haven’t been told: fuchsia and pink are back, as are maxi dresses (’tis the season) and tie dye (PRAISE). So, when I saw this dress at American Threads, I knew I had to have it.
Stocking our bar cart was one of my favorite “move-in” projects because it has potential to be so inviting, it fills my craving for organization and design and it makes wine nights super fun and easy for the girls or me and my husband.
There are a few “must haves” when it comes to decorating a bar cart and this is what made mine juuuuust right for our space.
You know those times that you know you’re suppose to dress up but dang you just wanna stay in your pjs because their comfy? This is me probably every Monday-Friday. I think I’ve found a solution though! I put on my favorite fitting black jeans, my comfy Adidas tennis shoes, a great flow crop tee […]
Etsy is so fun for many reasons. One of my favorites: they’re all businesses with real people behind them with real stories. There’s no corporate world, it’s all craftsmen and women that want to better the lives of others through beautiful creation. When Thomas and I started adding intricate details to our home, the first place […]
For the mama that isn't quite sure where to start, needs a little input or for those who just need a list!
I've been where you are: a tad bit overwhelmed with all of the baby things! Like, how do you keep up?! I kept getting ads for all types of baby products and just added all of them to my registry with no real plan. So, now that I'm one year into motherhood, let me chime in and help ya!
Hey, mama!
Check this out!
