Everyone loves to talk about babies but it’s easy to feel a bit lost when it comes to all things postpartum! After having 2 babies I have some favorites you need to know about to make your postpartum journey just a little bit easier.
-
This Nipple Butter- I am not kidding you when I say I went through a tub of this stuff in a week! It is amazing for healing chapped nips and it’s baby safe so you don’t have to wipe it off. Grab a container or three while you figure this whole breastfeeding journey out, trust me.
-
These Nursing Bras- An Amazon find that has been with me through babies #1 and #2 and they’re just so dang comfortable and affordable.
-
Silverette Cups- I don’t understand the magic of these but they are truly amazing for blistered, cracked, and chapped nips those first few weeks of breastfeeding. Worth every penny!
-
This Water Bottle- Water is essential postpartum, especially if you’re breastfeeding. Find an emotional support water bottle and cling to it! You know I’m a Stanley girl if you’ve followed me for any length of time online, but I’m loving the Iceflow tumbler for postpartum because it’s leakproof! I never have to worry about my toddler spilling it and the handle on the top makes it easy to tote around. Use the code RACHEL20 to save 20% off Stanley’s entire site!
-
This spray for down there– It’s cooling and amazing while you heal all the goods after birth. Again, things we don’t talk about enough.
-
These Pads and Underwear– Don’t be afraid of the disposable underwear and thick pads, just find the right ones! I loved these pads and these disposable underwear when I got home from the hospital.
An encouragement for the postpartum season
Postpartum looks completely different for everyone and my journey is likely different from yours. It is a rollercoaster of highest highs and sometimes lowest lows. Please know you’re not alone in whatever you’re feeling and it’s okay to feel all of it at once. You can hold joy and overwhelm, peace and exhaustion, contentment and discomfort and so many other feelings at the same time. I have a ton of motherhood podcast episodes I’m going to link below if you need a friend to listen to in this season. Specifically, go listen to this episode on Motherhood + Mental Health with my friend Rachael Elmore who is an incredible postpartum therapist. If you’re feeling low or different, please talk to someone! You are so normal and your hormones are going through a lot! Looking back on it, I think I had Postpartum Anxiety with my first and didn’t even realize it at the time.
