Truly, it’s been my new thing! You get me – you go to brew a pot of coffee and you under or over estimate how much to make! Ever. Single. Time. Hey, it’s okay! No judgemet – me, too! I’ve tried to figure out ways to be less wasteful and this is one of them! Instead of dumping my coffee down the drain from the coffee pot that wasn’t fully sipped in the mornings, I save it in a canister in my refrigerator for about a week! I’ll collect this coffee and use it in a lot of ways: iced lattes for quick on the go, add to boxed brownie mix instead of water (um, if you haven’t tried it, you must!), freeze it in icecubes and use it in iced coffee for later.
BUT! I find myself making the iced coffee trick in the afternoon almost everyday! It’s just what I need to get through the 2pm – 5pm stretch.
I simply pour my coffee over ice in these disposable cups I snagged from Amazon, add a splash of my favorite milk and coffee syrup (loving this lavender one), add the lid, straw, swirl and you’re done!
I mean, you can’t tell me if someone asked you “how do you like your iced coffee” you wouldn’t be excited – so this can be more than just for you! And something about the disposable cup (not very conscious of me, I know) makes it feel like it’s not my leftover coffee that I’m sipping.
Great to whip out if you have a last minute guest over – everyone loves a quick caffeine kick in the afternoon! It’s also the perfect treat for friends to drop off on their doorstep or to bring on a walk or playdate! WHY NOT! Ya know?
