I’ve been stuck on something from a bible study I’ve been reading through:
When Jesus met the woman at the well in John 4, he took the questionable route to get to her. He had an appointment with her, she just didn’t know.
Verse 4 tells us he *had* to go through Samaria even though logistics would have argued. He didn’t *have* to because it was the best way to go but he *chose* to reroute because he had someone he needed to encounter there.
Jews, like Jesus, would typically go around Samaria since they were unwelcome there + the path was treacherous. But Jesus did anyways. ⚡️ He took the treacherous, questionable route to have some face time with this chosen woman.
Here’s the thing, sis: his re-route is for you, too. He chooses you and wants face time with you to love on you, comfort you, call you higher, teach you something. He takes the treacherous for you. He does the question to answer your questions.
How neat that he chose an ordinary moment to meet a woman where she was at. He’s meeting us in our ordinary moments, too. Do you see him? (Hiiiiighly recommend “Finding I Am” by @lysaterkeurst)
