Ready to Start that Podcast of Yours?

stay tuned!

Let's take a swing at this together! I'm spilling all of the secrets in my course!

This week we have Brittany Maher and Cassandra Speer from Her True Worth joining us for some Real Talk. Her True Worth is a ministry that shares books and devotionals for women everywhere. Cassandra began Her True Worth in 2015 and Brittney joined in 2018. Brittany and Cassandra are a powerhouse duo and they work multiple states apart from each other and share the sweetest friendship together. They are living proof that God overcomes logistics. When God gives you a vision he will take care of the logistics for you. To see how they both yielded to the spirit and now how God has grown their ministry is incredible.

Cassandra and Brittany just finished a book called “Her True Worth: Breaking Free from a Culture of Selfies, Side Hustles, and People Pleasing to Embrace Your True Identity in Christ.” I love that this is a season they are still currently walking through and continue to be bold about speaking out on it. As women we are always battling with worth, being confident in it, and searching to find it. Having a hard time with worth is both a male and female problem but women tend to identify this problem more frequently. Cassandra says that women tend to believe that worth and value can be earned or taken. This is not true and this is the reason that they love to speak out on this because of their own struggles with worth.

It is important for us to acknowledge what we put our worth in. Are you putting your worth in looks, popularity, if God took it from you would you be ok? Do you struggle with worth? Brittany shares that if you are struggling with worth, rest in the love of God. One way she likes to rest in God’s love is to spend time in prayer and practice receiving his love right where you are. We have to let go of the idea that you have to work to earn his love. Cassandra shares that in order to understand where to place your worth, write down where it isn’t. Get out a piece of paper and think about all of the things that you are part of and ask yourself how you would feel without it. In order to overcome it you have to acknowledge the wrong place it is in and when you identify your counterfeit identities, challenge them. Get your post notes out and write down “this ___ is not where my worth and value come from” and trade it with “this is where I come from.”

A resource that I love and encourages me throughout the day is the “Clings” that Sacred Salt carry’s. This Cling holds affirmations and joy that you can quite literally cling to anything! In the car, around your home, at your office desk, you can remind yourself of your worth!

Cassandra shares a great step by step of how to conquer what you put your worth in. Step one is to identify the lie. Then write down how you act on the lie, what you are doing to partake in the lie. Next write down how it affects your life, how your life looks different because of it. Lastly, write down the wound that it leaves on you. Treating yourself wrongly and believing in the wrong place of worth truly does leave a wound of hurt in your heart. After all of these you go through this again except with your truth. When we place our value in worldly things we are saying that what God did wasn’t enough. For round two answer the same questions but this time with the truth that God speaks over you, from his word and to your heart. Such a great practical walk through to help you delight in the true foundation of your worth! God doesn’t want us to deny the places we need help in but he delights in meeting us there.

It is also amazing to have things that we love to do. What are your passions, what are parts of life that you love to delight in? Find joy right where you are! The things that you do is about what he has done. You enjoy things more when you realize that what you are spending time on is not where your worth comes. Focus on the doing, not the undoing, and find joy in the passions God has given you.

What great practicals from Brittany and Cassandra! You can continue to be encouraged from them by following along with Her True Worth and reading their new book “Her True Worth: Breaking Free from a Culture of Selfies, Side Hustles, and People Pleasing to Embrace Your True Identity in Christ.”  You can find their book in any book store to help bring your joy right where you are.
